Stenhouse Road works set to begin this week

Evening and night time traffic travelling along Stenhouse Road is likely to be affected by road works due to commence this week.

Essential road maintenance will result in the closure of Stevenson Drive and Stenhouse Cottages at their respective junctions with Stenhouse Road between the hours of 7pm and 6am, Monday to Friday.

Works, beginning Tuesday 18 March, will last for up to four weeks and will involve the resurfacing of Stenhouse Road between the bridge over the Water of Leith and the junction with Stevenson Drive.

The road will remain clear to traffic during the day and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the period.

Councillor Lesley Hinds, Transport Convener, said: “We understand that these works may cause inconvenience for drivers and residents, and have endeavoured to minimise this by carrying them out during the evening, but improvements are essential to making the road safer for motorists and cyclists.”
