Councillor Ross welcomes new appointment at Marketing Edinburgh

The City of Edinburgh Council’s Economy Convener today welcomed the news that Marketing Edinburgh has appointed a new Head of Marketing.

Nick Hudson, 48, is a leading marketing expert with experience at Kellogg’s, Heineken, Royal Bank of Scotland and United Distillers. As Head of Marketing at Marketing Edinburgh, he will have a pivotal role in strengthening the city’s promotion both in the UK and internationally.

Cllr Frank Ross, Convener of the Economy Committee, the City of Edinburgh Council, said:
“I am delighted to see this new addition to the team, which will strengthen further the promotion of Edinburgh. This is a key appointment and will help to ensure that Edinburgh keeps its status as a multi-award winning city known throughout the world for its rich cultural heritage, festivals and events and investment potential.”

Nick said: “I’m really excited to join the team at Marketing Edinburgh. Throughout my career, I’ve worked at a senior level with some of the world’s best-known brands, helping them to get noticed for all the right reasons.

“I’m very clear on what needs to be done at Marketing Edinburgh and what our partners’ expectations are. I’m looking forward to getting on with the job and delivering outstanding work.”

An interim Chief Executive for Marketing Edinburgh is also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
