As a city we owe Hans a great debt having entered the international congress marketplace with an iconic purpose built facility under his stewardship.”

Commenting on Hans Rissmann's contribution to the development of Edinburgh's business tourism offer the City of Edinburgh Council Chief Executive, Sue Bruce said: "We have been fortunate to have had Hans at the helm at EICC for twenty years. He has made a huge personal contribution through his exemplary leadership. In that time the conference centre has hosted close to one million delegates and delivered an economic impact in excess of £400 million to the city. Additionally, EICC played a leading role in attracting major businesses to collocate and contribute to the regeneration of an important part of the city centre.
