Busy week for Locality Committees

Residents are being encouraged to tune in to the second meeting of their Locality Committee when they meet this week to discuss the pressing topics in their area.

All four Localities Committees will meet on consecutive days this week in the City Chambers and can be attended in person or viewed live via webcast.

Main Council Committees currently have responsibility for services across the city and Locality Committees will complement this by addressing specific service and community issues within their areas.

Each of the Committees will have powers over community safety, lifelong learning and libraries, traffic management, roads and parking, parks and green space, street cleaning and open space maintenance and public realm projects on a local basis.

The South East Locality Committee will meet today (Monday 23 April ) from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Convened by Cllr Mandy Watt, Councillors will discuss the committee’s workplan, road safety in Greenbank Lane and hear an update on policing in the area.

Tomorrow South West Locality Committee will meet from 3pm to 5pm. Convener Cllr Denis Dixon will oversee discussion of community engagement as well as neighbourhood environment programme and community grant funds.

Councillors on the North West Locality Committee will meet from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday and Convener Cllr Robert Aldridge will manage discussion of the Locality Improvement Plan and hear a Health and Social Care update.

The North East Locality Committee, convened by Cllr Maureen Child, will gather on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm to discuss engagement in their community and the recent complaints about vehicles parking on Brunstane Road South.

You can find out more about Locality Committees and their membership on the Council’s website.
