Cllr Gavin Barrie, Economy Convener, said: “The technology sector in Edinburgh has grown rapidly over the last 10 years and we are home to major tech companies such as Amazon and Microsoft as well as successful home grown companies like our two ‘unicorns’ Skyscanner and FanDuel. The city is also home to Codebase, the UK’s largest tech incubator which houses over 80 tech companies and offers coworking space to start up businesses.

“Edinburgh is renowned for quality of life and has an unmatched cultural offer. The city also has the most highly educated workforce in the UK. If you add that to the fact that our world class universities are turning out talented graduates every year, many of who are joining tech businesses in the city or setting up their own, it is not surprising that the Capital is doing so well.”
