Guinness PRO12 Final: travel advice

Rugby fans heading to watch the Guinness PRO12 Final at Murrayfield and those travelling nearby are being advised to take note of travel arrangements this weekend.

On Saturday Irish teams Connacht and Leinster will battle for the cup, with play kicking off at 5.30pm and the stadium opening at 3.30pm.

More than 36,000 people are expected to attend the final, which is being held for the first time outside of Ireland.

As a result, the public are being urged to leave as much time as possible for any journeys to or near the stadium, as delays are expected.

There will also be a series of road closures in place - Russell Road will be closed from 12pm and Corstorphine Road, Haymarket Terrace, West Approach Road and West End Crescents will be closed from 7pm.

Those travelling by public transport can find information on bus routes on Lothian Buses’ website, while Edinburgh Trams will be running an enhanced service to Murrayfield, with full details online.

Find out more about road closures and diversions on the Council website.
