Now in its 19th year, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay was first organised in 1993 and will this year offer events, live music, DJ sets, dancing, fireworks and New Year Games over three days from Friday 30th December to Sunday 1st January 2012.

The programme features an in depth interview about the Lord Provost's background and his career in the military and as a Church of Scotland minister, interspersed with some of his favourite Christmas tracks including Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby.

Admission to the Scott Monument is just £3 - climb its 287 steps and enjoy spectacular, panoramic views over Edinburgh. Opening times for the festive period are as follows: closed 25th, 26th, 2nd, open 1st January 12 - 4pm. Normal hours apply on 27th December and 3rd January.
