Travel advice for Royal Highland Show

People heading to the Royal Highland Show this weekend are being advised to take note of travel arrangements.

The Royal Highland Show takes place at Ingliston from today, Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 June 2016.

With hundreds of thousands of people expected to flock to the show from Edinburgh and beyond, attendees are advised to use public transport where possible and to check for travel updates before setting out as traffic is anticipated to be busy. Planned industrial action by ScotRail on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday could further impact journey times.

Please find below a statement from the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society's Chairman, Willie Gill, regarding travel advice:

"We want everyone to have a smooth journey, whether they are visiting the show or heading to the airport. Plan to leave earlier than you might normally do, follow the signs and keep up to date with ‪#‎RHStravel on Twitter. We have a dedicated team that will be supported by Police Scotland and, with excellent public transport systems in place, we are confident delays will be kept to a minimum.”
