Vote for Edinburgh venues nominated for prestigious Art Fund Prize

The transformed National Museum of Scotland and Scottish National Portrait Gallery have been long-listed for this year's Art Fund Prize - the UK 's leading museum award. The winner will be announced in June and will receive £100,000 prize money.

Council welcomes Gamesa to Edinburgh

Council reaction to the port of Leith in Edinburgh being chosen by Spanish company Gamesa for the site of a new wind turbine manufacturing plant.

Dave Anderson, Director of City Development, said: "This announcement is extremely welcome and we look forward to continuing to work with Gamesa. This comes on top of the recent announcement of Edinburgh as the location for the headquarters of the Green Investment Bank and further highlights why Edinburgh was recently awarded best large European city for Foreign direct investment by fDi's European Cities and Regions of the Future 2012/13 awards. We will continue to work with Forth Ports, Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Government to deliver Leith Docks as Scotland's 21st century gateway port."
