The Council provides access to free public WiFi in a number of locations throughout the city to help you get online when you’re out and about.
You can access free wifi 24/7 in the city centre, this service is provided by Intechnology WiFi under a concession agreement. Select EdiFreeWiFi from your list of available networks and register for use, it only takes a minute. Find out more and a map of the area covered.
Public transport WiFi
All the Lothian Buses fleet and trams have free WiFi on board.
Public building WiFi
The Council offers free WiFi in many of our buildings including our main civic buildings, museums and galleries, theatres, libraries, care homes, and community centres. Select the public WiFi option in your listings and log in to use.
WiFi is also available in a many of the city’s main attractions including the Zoo and the National Museum of Scotland as well as Edinburgh Leisure’s sports centres.
The majority of the wifi installations were made possible with funding from the UK Government’s Super Connected Cities Programme.
