Edinburgh Young Carers Initiative provides support throughout Edinburgh for young people who have the main caring responsibility for someone in their family. A young carer is someone aged 5-25 years old whose life is affected by the illness or disability of someone in their family. They may provide physical and/or emotional support for that person. The project also works to raise awareness of young carers needs and to inform and assist agencies in developing appropriate support services.
