Services A-Z
Libraries
Library membership is free and entitles you to borrow from our massive collection of books, films and music.
You can also use the internet for free in any of our 28 libraries - selected locations also offer free wifi.
That's not all. Having a library card allows you to log on, free, to over 20 web sites through Your Library which you'd have to pay to use otherwise. These sites will help you with everything from learning a language to starting a business, from practicing for your driving theory test to searching newspaper archives.
Libraries are open to everyone. Most libraries are fully accessible and have books, audiobooks, CDs, newspapers and magazines in a number of languages. There is a range of services to meet the needs of ethnic communities and people with disabilities and we run a mobile library service covering the entire city.
