Family history

Edinburgh City Libraries is a great place to start tracing your family tree with our free sources of information. The Central library has census information, back issues of local newspapers and photographs amongst the resources to help you with your search. There is also free access in all libraries to Ancestry the largest collection of genealogical information available online. Edinburgh City Archives also has a wealth of material to help your research your family history.
