Over the coming months the Job Market series will cover a range of different topics with the aim of providing up to date, relevant and accessible labour market information. These will include broad labour market context information, updates on development opportunities and where the jobs are, employer surveys, including current recruitment practice and access to employment and training initiatives. The bulletins will be complemented by regular job market seminars.
Issue 2
Since the last issue of "Job Market Edinburgh", the Edinburgh Homeless Project has organised two further seminars outlining job market issues and developments in Edinburgh. The first of these focused on the North Edinburgh Employer Survey and the European funded ADAPT Initiative. The Employer Survey was detailed in the first issue of Job Market Edinburgh. The ADAPT project is an on-line consultancy for small and medium sized enterprises wishing to access training resources.
The most recent seminar held on 24th September focused on the financial sector. Sally Crighton spoke about Standard Life's Pathfinder initiatives for homeless young people and has written an article contained within this edition. Cathy Malone from LEEL gave an overview of developments in the finance sector and Norma Hurley spoke about Scottish Enterprise's New Futures initiative.
