Housing Management - Service Standards

When you leave your home
  • You must give us 28 days notice if you want to leave your tenancy and, except in death or other exceptional circumstances, we will charge the rent due for the full notice period.
  • We will inspect your home during the notice period and inform you of any work you are responsible for. We will give you information about returning your keys and ending your tenancy.
  • Empty properties will be re-let promptly and we will set targets for doing this.
  • We will recharge you for any damage to the property, or rubbish left behind. We will inform you immediately of how much the charge will be if this is the case.
  • We will provide you with a ‘before you leave’ checklist to assist in your move.
  • We will give you a final rent account for your tenancy.
  • We will confirm succession rights, if appropriate.
  • We will provide you with a thank you reward if you leave your home in good condition and there is no rent outstanding.
