We will publish our Tenant Participation Strategy. This encourages and supports tenants, residents and service users to participate actively in all areas of our work. We will support tenants who take an active interest in managing their homes.
We will support and develop the Housing Area Boards, work with Edinburgh Tenants Federation and area umbrella groups and regularly consult Registered Tenants Organisations. We recognise the added value that tenant involvement brings and are committed to providing resources for tenant participation activities.
We will actively encourage a range of approaches to participation, including task focused working groups, regular block and estate inspections, questionnaires, surveys and conferences.
We are committed to reviewing the Strategy jointly with tenants to monitor progress and check that we are doing what we said we would do.
We will consult on all major policies if we are proposing to change them.
