There are 150 play areas in and around Edinburgh. These provide a range of play equipment for toddlers, junior and teenage children.

Playgrounds are open every day and are free.

Look out for the Play Around Edinburgh symbols.

These symbols are a guide for parents to decide on the suitability of equipment for their child’s age.

Teddy Bears – Toddlers; Sun – Juniors; Kite – Teenagers.

Toddlers can enjoy the fun of swinging, crawling, sliding, jumping – and more – when they visit one of the city’s playgrounds recommended for toddlers.

Juniors can use multi play units designed to provide a wide range of activities for boys and girls.

Teenage children are not forgotten with more exciting equipment like the overhead rotators at Figgate Park and Sighthill Park, and the teenage units at the Inch, Seven Acre Park and Figgate Park.
