Review of 2004
|
| Below are some of BDS' key achievements in 2004: |
| BDS has two roles within the Council: providing services for Housing and non-Housing properties. Our non-Housing projects include: a new teaching facility at Blackhall Primary School; a new games hall at Liberton High School and a major refurbishment of Warrender Baths. BDS is also the lead consultant in the project for the Education Centre for Community Safety in the Lothians. This project has involved close working with other local authorities and agencies, including the Fire Brigade and Police. This is the first purpose designed, interactive community safety learning centre in Scotland. |
| The Housing section of BDS has completed some 4000 houses in the six main areas of the city. In addition, we've also been involved in maintenance to areas like roofing and security. Work was also carried on several multi storey blocks – three were overclad, three had structural repairs, two were re-roofed and one had a complete window upgrade. |
