Only 25% of the money spent on services by the City of Edinburgh Council is funded by the Council Tax. The remaining 75% is determined by Central Government through specific grants, revenue support grant and non-domestic rates.

Properties with a rateable value of £11,500 or less will receive 5% relief for 2005/2006. Properties with a rateable value of less than £8,000 may qualify for further relief. For further details, please telephone the number on your rate demand.
