A pre-inquiry meeting was held on 19/8/04 to arrange the structure and basic timetable of the inquiry to which all the objectors were invited to attend. The inquiry will be conducted by two independent reporters, Mr R Hickman and Mr R Maslin from the Scottish Executive Development Department Inquiry Reporters Unit. Their role is to consider impartially objections made to the plan and report to the Council their recommendations for action on each objection. The inquiry will be independently administered by a Programme Officer who will be appointed by the Council. Attending the Inquiry The inquiry will be held Mondays to Thursdays, excluding Fridays, starting from 29 November. The inquiry will take place over 3-4 months split into number of sessions with a series of short breaks between them. The sessions will take place at various locations and dates. This information will be added to the web site in due course, including information relating to the availability of parking and public transport services. Members of the public can attend the
inquiry, however, they may not speak at the inquiry unless invited to do
so by the reporter/s. For further detail on the inquiry please contact the
Programme Officer. The inquiry is likely to run for 3-4 months. It is expected that the reporters’ findings will be published and reported to Planning Committee sometime late in 2005 or early 2006. The Council may seek to modify the plan in response to the reporters’ findings prior to adopting the plan.
