A Guide to Getting your Application Validated

The City of Edinburgh Council receives nearly 5000 planning applications every year. Each one has to be carefully checked to make sure that the forms have been correctly filled in and we have all the necessary information we need to make a decision. A large proportion of applications are invalid because of errors. This causes delays in the planning process.

The Guide will lead you through the planning process explaining what forms to fill in for different types of applications, what we do with your application, how to do neighbour notification and what drawings we require for particular works. In addition, we give advice on pre-application proposals and retrospective works, amongst other things. Applicants and agents should read the guide before making an application to ensure that it is validated as soon as possible.

The guide is an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF). If you do not have the Acrobat Reader you can download it for free by clicking on the yellow Acrobat Reader Icon bellow.
